Capital of the parish of San Jorge de Nueva. Nueva is one of the main towns in the municipality of Llanes, with more than half a thousand inhabitants and a hamlet of exceptional wealth, in which traditional, modernist and historicist buildings are combined, such as the parish church.

Nueva de Llanes has a long history shared with the Camino de Santiago, the pilgrims’ hospital of Nuestra Señora de la Blanca, of which the 17th-century chapel, located in the Plaza de Santa Ana, has settled here since Modern Times.
