Place and parish of the council of Cudillero, with 740 inhabitants. The place of Piñera is located at the foot of the Sierra de Gamonedo, at an altitude of 110 meters, with 47 inhabitants. There are no remains of its primitive temple, having been rebuilt in the 17th century. It was for years the parish of the town of Cudillero, keeping inside the image of the Christ of Piñera, found by fishermen from Cudillero.
