Soto del Barco

Capital of the council of the same name. It sits on a gentle slope on the right bank of the Nalón River, somewhat elevated above it, climbing its hamlet between 20 and 40 meters of altitude. It has about 780 inhabitants, growing. Privileged position at the confluence of two communication routes, the N-632 that crosses the center in an east-west direction and the AS-16 that connects with the N634 in a south direction. Its hamlet is arranged around these communication routes, for the most part made up of single-family homes, highlighting Indian villas such as Los Cedros or the Clarín cinema from 1920.
